<TD class=style1><A href="http://www.animalhealthaustralia.com.au/"><STRONG>Animal Health Australia (AHA)</STRONG></A> is a not-for-profit public company established by the Australian, state and territory governments and major national livestock industry organisations. AHA manages a suite of national programs that position Australia as a world leader in terms of its animal health status and systems. There are a comprehensive set of animal disease emergency response plans (including FMD), known as <A href="http://www.animalhealthaustralia.com.au/fms/Animal%20Health%20Australia/AUSVETPLAN/FMD-15-INTERIM(19April06).pdf" target=_blank>AUSVETPLAN</A>, on their website.<BR><BR><A href="http://www.defra.gov.uk/" target=_blank><STRONG>The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra)</STRONG></A> is a Government Department in the UK. The overarching challenge for Defra is to secure a healthy environment in which current and future generations can prosper. The health and welfare of animals is central to Defra&#8217;s work of protecting and improving livestock and controlling and eradicating disease.
